Daniel's Report - Baptism Today In Jakarta

I went to the ruko (shop/house) at 8 am this morning preparing the plastic pool with my wife, Martha and Indah. It takes around 30 minutes pumping air into the plastic pool and then needs another hour to pump the water into the pool. The man came at 9 AM and we waited until 10 AM for the baptism. We sang two songs and I taught for awhile about how to be saved and the part baptism plays in this process, then I baptized him. He brought cakes and drinks for us. Rider and Abdi both came to encourage him. He is one of my Bible students, came to us through the radio program, studied English/Bible for a while with Marty Johnson, attended our WBS/WEI seminars, has been attending our worship services for several months now, is 73 years old, was a Muslim until 1987 when he began to believe in Jesus and was divorced by his wife because of his new faith. Yesterday, while we studied the Bible together, he asked when he could be baptized. I told him he could be baptized immediately but he said he hadn’t brought any clothes to change into. So we made arrangements to baptize him this morning. Praise God…!
