Questions the students ask

Bro. Steve:

These are some of the Bible questions the students have:

Most of the Bible students ask about the many kinds of baptism and I teach them about the need for salvation because of sin (Rom 3:23) and the reasons we become Christians (1 Cor 15).

Others ask about the anointing of oil in worship. I tell them that we don't see in the New Testament scripture anything about using oil in the worship. When they use Mark 6:12 to defend their opinion, I tell them that Jesus gave the apostles authority that was not given to us and that even that oil was not used in worship and I give them 1 Cor 14:26-40 to show how worship is to be done orderly. I also site Acts 19:11 to show that some people did not use oil in healing (2 Tim 4:20) that even Paul couldn't heal Trophimus and (James 5:14) those who are ill should send for the elders of the church who will pray for them but that this praying and oil-anointing was not done as part of the worship service but at home.

These are some of the questions the students are asking now.
