15 year-old gives birth to Queen

The 15 year-old pregnant girl was received at Connor's House Saturday about 4 o clock. She attended worship services on Sunday then was taken to the hospital on Monday for a general health check up. The Doctor said that she would probably give birth within the next week. Tuesday morning about 7 o’clock, while Daniel was returning home on the train, Daniel's wife called him to say that the girl had been feeling pain every 15 minutes since 5 o’clock. He immediately made arrangements to take her to the hospital where the doctor checked her and said that because the baby was premature he would give some medicine to delay the birth as long as possible. By Wednesday noon, Jakarta time, they could delay the birth no longer so the doctor used suction and other means to aid delivery. Finally around noon, the baby girl was born and weighed 2.86 kilograms (6.3 pounds). It appears that she is normal but is being kept in an incubator and treated as a prenatal baby. Both mother and daughter seem to be doing fine. The baby's name is Queen.

15 Year-old unwed mother to be....

MG - a 15 year-old girl born 13 Oct 1999, is now living in Connor's House. She will continue her high school studies at Connor's House even after the baby is born. Her father is a single parent having been divorced from his wife when MG was 8 years old. She has been living with her father and her grandmother. It looks like our "family" will continue to grow....

It looks almost certain that we will receive two more children in the next few days and weeks. One is a 9 day old boy who will arrive this coming Saturday. His unwed mother and her family are unable or unwilling to support the child. The other is a child to be born (probably in the next 2 weeks) from a 15 year old unwed mother. Again there is no support from family members. Both babies will be left for us to care for and eventually educate. Because this last mother is still a child herself, her delivery may have to be Cesarean Section. This adds $1500 to the cost of a normal birth. We care for all of the children in Connor's House as we would for our own. We provide the best quality medical care, formula, and other needs and when they are old enough we send them to private schools for the finest education possible. We have a new baby....!

Daniella was born by Cesarean Section last Friday. She weighed almost 8 pounds and appears to be in perfect health. Both mother and baby are doing fine. I mentioned in a previous post that we had an unwed mother that we were taking care of in Connor's House. This is her baby. She has returned to Connor's House from the hospital and will nurse the baby for a few days and recover from her surgery, then she plans to leave the baby in our care because she is unable and the family is unwilling to provide for her and the baby. We will treat the baby as one of our own, providing the very best possible care for her and later send her to private schools for the best possible education. Pregnant woman helped by KOI Kids of Indonesia

A listener of our radio program called Daniel a few days ago and asked if we could provide housing and medical care (including a possible cesarean section) for her unwed granddaughter who is in her 8th month. The family was unable or unwilling to help further. After extensive interviews and conversations Daniel and Naomi decided to help. The young lady moved into Connor's House this week after seeing our doctor. She will continue to see our doctor each week until delivery. Please pray for a healthy baby and mother. There is a possibility that the baby will be left with us after it's arrival. When the time comes, we will advise you of the outcome. Bobi's 16th birthday

Bobi, one of our "kids" in Connor's House, recently celebrated his 16th birthday. Daniel took all 5 of our "kids" out for dinner. It was a real treat for all of them and for us as well. When asked what he wanted to be when he became an adult, Bobi answered that he wanted to be a preacher. Daniel says that he often finds Bobi in the worship center early on Sunday mornings singing or reading the Bible. This is unusual for the autistically handicapped young man who when he first arrived at Connor's House seldom if ever sang or even spoke to anyone. It has been a real joy to all of us to see him developing some social skills and taking more interest in his studies (he's still a freshman in high school). Family members who came to wish him well on his birthday commented to Daniel that they see a marked improvement in his development. It is our prayer that we will be able to help him use his life and his skills in a way that will always glorify God and be a blessing to himself and others. Atiap & Albert

Atiap has two children. He had a stroke and is unable to work. One of our members (Adam) who daily distributes food to the street children, used to frequently visit Atiap’s rent house and give them food. Atiap’s wife had to leave the family alone to become a live-in maid. Earlier, Atiap’s wife had placed the daughter in an orphanage but left the son to take care of his father. All of these difficulties have weighed heavily upon Albert, the son, whose education has suffered accordingly. Daniel has asked Atiap and Albert to move closer to Connor’s House so the congregation could have more control over Albert’s education and otherwise help them to have a better life. They are now receiving food, shelter, clothing, and medical care when needed. In addition, Albert is receiving a better education in a private school — all funded by Daniel and the local congregation. Donations to this work will allow us help others with similar needs.
