Passing the Torch

Passing the torch.... The beat goes on.... A new generation will carry the work forward. The future of KOI - Kids of Indonesia is looking good.  I'm 78 and my doctors are telling me I'm going to live to be 105...! But, we are making preparations in case my Father has other plans. Daniel also has a replacement already on the board ready to take over if something were to happen to him.

There is no way I can make you feel what I'm feeling when I realize that my sons will be carrying on the work we started when they were just toddlers. I never dreamed this would happen. It is God's doing and I simply set back and marvel at how He works everything out.

Scott's daughter spent two summers in Singapore working with the youth of the Moulmein Road church and even worked along side of the group while they served in Cambodia this past April. Two or her brohers accompained Scott and Tracey recently while they worked in a couple villages on Nias and visited and encouraged several different works in Jakarta including the work that we are doing with Daniel's help at Connor's House.

Our goal is to provide continuity and financial support for all of our children until they reach adulthood and are able to support themselves. Your continued financial support will make it possible.

Two of my sons together with two of my grandsons and daughter-in-law "Outback" with the family of dear friends in Jakarta, Indonesia, who have helped me through some very difficult times over the past 12 years. "Hello, everybody! I wish I were there with all of you."

Brett takes a "selfie" from his hotel in Jakarta.

Below, one of our Bible students gets an opportunity not afforded to many. He practices his English with native speakers.

These are the most recent photos of our babies.

Jeanie and I together with Jeanie's sister and her husband visit our mother and mother-in-law who is now into the 5th month of her 100th year. She was a school teacher for all of her adult life and if she isn't careful will outlive most of her former students. She started teaching multiple grades in one room schools in various locations in southern Iowa. After she retired from teaching, she babysat her grandchildren, and then her great grandchildren. She has always been a great follower of Jesus Christ, a wonderful mother, and a terrific mother-in-law. So far as I'm aware, she is loved by all who know her.
